One of Toril Rygh`s sculptures is a bath tub having human hair coming out of its curves. Absurd, but also a comment on a situation where the divide between the individual and the context in which we belong, is blurred. The idea that we are being washed in a tub full of other human beings` residue is repulsive, or the idea that our own hair is mixed with others. Pure, independent, and original, we never again will be. The innocence went down the drain a long time ago.
Mixed media: silicone, hair, epoxy
